[Cable Network News] Japanese company Toshiba has developed a new type of wireless power supply system that uses microwaves to transmit power to distant places. This technology can accurately control power supply and avoid interference with surrounding radio waves.

Toshiba plans to commercialize this technology after 2025, thereby achieving the ability to drive sensors and cameras in factories without the need for batteries.

It is reported that this technology can simultaneously detect wireless local area network (Wi-Fi) signals and send integrated beam microwave power to the accurate direction. Toshiba stated that the power supply system has also been miniaturized and can be easily installed on the ceiling. This microwave remote power supply system can provide 100 milliwatts of power at a distance of 3 meters and 1 milliwatt of power at a distance of 10 meters.
