On June 26th, the 3060MW energy storage base, jointly invested by China Energy Engineering Group Digital Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and Shandong Guohui Investment Co., Ltd., was initiated.

Located in the southern part of Huanggang Town, Shan County, Heze City, Shandong Province, the 3060MW energy storage base is a joint investment by China Energy Engineering Group Digital Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and Shandong Guohui Investment Co., Ltd., with a total investment exceeding 20 billion yuan. It is the first large-scale green electricity consumption hub project at the receiving end in China. It is also the first project in the country to adopt the "salt-electricity joint operation + integrated mining and storage" cluster development model, setting three new "world records": the largest volume of a new type of energy storage base in the world, the largest scale of customized cavity storage in a salt mine globally, and the world's first 600MW-class compressed air energy storage power station.

Leveraging the abundant local salt mine resources, the base plans to construct three units with a single-unit power of 660MW and three units with a single-unit power of 360MW, with a total installed capacity of 3060MW. It is expected to generate 4 billion kWh annually, with an electricity conversion efficiency of about 70%. The world's first 660MW compressed air energy storage power station has completed the feasibility study review, and construction is expected to commence in September this year.
