Beijing, April 29, 2024 – China Electric Power Investment Group Co., Ltd. (China Electric Power Investment) held a conference today to launch the advancement of strategic emerging industries and key energy security projects for the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
The conference revealed that the projects, characterized by large investment scale, strong radiation, and driving effect, diversified project types, and green and low-carbon features, include over 200 items in the first batch of project lists, with an installed capacity of over 80 million kilowatts and a total investment of over 500 billion yuan. Among them, clean energy projects account for over 90%.
Covering major national scientific and technological projects, ministerial and commission key research and development tasks, nuclear energy, hydrogen energy, and other key R&D programs, the projects will focus on breaking through key technologies in nuclear, wind, photovoltaic, energy storage, and hydrogen energy fields, continuously expanding industrial scale, breaking through the upstream and downstream industrial chains, comprehensively accelerating technological innovation, and continuously improving efficiency and effectiveness, injecting strong impetus into China's acceleration of new-type industrialization.
The development and construction of the projects will focus on the coordination of upstream and downstream and local cooperation, continuously promote the investment in infrastructure during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, effectively drive the coordinated development of upstream and downstream industries, and inject new impetus into the development of China's energy and electricity, especially clean energy.
