What are the types of high-voltage cable connectors? How many types of household wire connectors are there for connecting the power cables themselves, such as connecting connectors, insulated intermediate connectors, and plug-in connectors for oil-filled power cables and steel pipe power cables?

RVV cable

1. Ordinary household wire connectors.

It is used to connect two adjacent power cables.

In high-voltage cable lines, in addition to connecting the cable core conductor electrically, the connector of the self-contained oil-filled power cable must keep the oil flow in the cable core smooth. However because the connector is manually operated on-site, its process conditions are poor. Therefore, under the crimping condition of the cable core connection, the problem of electric field concentration at the cable core connection is solved by increasing the insulation thickness, thereby reducing the working field strength of the connector to ensure the safe operation of the connector. Usually, the insulation of the power cable is wrapped with additional insulation, and the two ends of the additional insulation form a conical surface stress cone. The insulation shield is wrapped outside the additional insulation, and the insulation shields at both ends of the power cable are connected, there is an outer bright steel pipe outside to isolate the insulation from the atmosphere so that it can withstand the oil pressure of the oil-filled power cable.

2. Household wire insulation connector

The internal insulation structure and size of the insulation connector are the same as those of the ordinary connector. The 110 ~ 220kV oil-filled power cable insulation connector is mainly used in long power cable lines to electrically disconnect the metal sheath or metal shield and semi-conductive layer at both ends of the connector, to cross-connect and reduce the sheath (or shield) loss.

3. Household wire plug-in connector

The plug-in connector is a weak link in the electrical performance of the oil-filled power cable accessories, and it is also a complex connector. It is mainly used in the oil-impregnated paper-insulated power cable line with a drop greater than the specified value, to cut off the oil circuit, prevent the high-end power cable insulation from drying out, and the low-end power cable insulation oil pressure from exceeding the specified value.

The 110kV single-chamber plug-in intermediate connector usually uses an epoxy resin sleeve to separate the oil flow of the two power cables.

The 220kV double-chamber plug-in intermediate connector uses two epoxy resin sleeves to separate the oil flow of the two power cables. There is an outer cavity on the plug-in tube of the two power cables, and the two inner cavities containing the power cables and an outer cavity are connected by oil flow, forming a two-way sealing structure.

4. Steel pipe oil-filled household wire connector

There are two types of copper pipe oil-filled power cable connectors: ordinary connection connectors and semi-plug-in connectors.

Ordinary connection connector, used for the connection of power cable manufacturing length, its internal insulation structure is generally the same as that of the self-contained oil-filled power cable connector, and its shell is a copper pipe with a diameter slightly larger than the power cable pipeline. The semi-plug-in connector is used for longer steel pipe oil-filled power cable lines. It is a connector designed to prevent the loss of a large amount of power cable sleeves in the event of an oil leak and to separate the oil supply sections so that the oil of the two sections passes through the power cable insulation layer or bypass pipe. At the connection of the steel pipe and the power cable steel pipe of the connector, a sealing structure is used to separate the power cable oil circuit.
