Ideal Storage Temperature for Patch Panels
Fiber optic cables and the components in a patch panel are sensitive to temperature changes. Extreme heat or cold can cause the fibers to expand or contract, which can lead to signal degradation.
For normal storage, the ideal temperature range is between 0°C and 40°C (32°F and 104°F). This range helps to keep the fibers in good condition and ensures that the panel's performance remains stable. If the temperature goes above 40°C, the materials in the patch panel can start to degrade. For example, the plastic components might become brittle, and the adhesive used to hold the fibers in place could start to break down. On the other hand, if it gets too cold, below 0°C, the fibers can become more prone to cracking.
